The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) received participants of the Long Logistics Management Course (LLMC) 3/2023 from the Nigerian Navy Logistics College (NNLC), Kano. The participants embarked on a Two-Day Educational visit to the Corporation with the primary aim of enhancing the understanding and improving professional knowledge and competencies of logistics personnel in the Nigerian Navy for better service delivery.

The visit which began on Monday 16 October and concluded on Tuesday 17 October 2023 was led by the College Training Commander, Navy Captain Afolabi Ipaye.

He stated that it is a pre-requisite that the participants have an on-the-ground assessment of what is taught in the classrooms by having a look at the production lines and facilities to gain knowledge on how things are done.

The Training Commander expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and willingness of the Corporation to share its experiences and expertise.  He further emphasized the importance of such visits in enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of future military leaders.

The participants were given a detailed briefing on the production activities and thereafter averred that the lessons learned would help them in proffering implementable recommendations that will aid the military as they progress in the course of their careers.

The team was warmly received by the Director of Research and Development, Brigadier General Chima Ekeator who represented the Director General DICON, and other management staff.

The event witnessed a visit to Headquarters DICON, a tour of the Ordnance Factories, Research and Development Centre, Special Equipment Factory, and DICON Training Institute. Other activities include interactive sessions, the presentation of souvenirs, a vote of thanks by the participants as well as group photographs.
