‎In a continuous effort to establish a strategic partnership aimed at boosting indigenous defence production, Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) marked another milestone having signed a new Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Consulting and Supply International (CSI) Limited.

The signing ceremony occurred on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, in Abuja.

‎CSI is a leading distributor of tactical, military, shooting sports and law enforcement equipment headquartered in Nigeria. The company supplies arms, ammunition, tactical gear, body armour, vehicles, security solutions, and many more.

The Director General (DG), Major General Babatunde Ibrahim Alaya, speaking during the ceremony,‎ mentioned that, with the alignment to the new DICON Act, signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in November 2023, the Corporation is attracting both local and foreign investors. General Alaya stated that this initiative aims to support the development of a Military Industrial Complex (MIC) focused on achieving self-sufficiency in military production and promoting exports.

General Alaya further pointed out that the partnership with DICON emphasises a commitment to local defence production and technology transfer. The DG finally appreciates Mr President for signing the DICON Act 2023. He also appreciates the Honourable Minister of Defence, Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs for their continuous guidance and support.

Also speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of CSI, Mr Fadi Bashoun, asserted that the partnership would also establish a state-of-the-art production facility in DICON complex for the production of ammunition, and other advanced defence systems tailored towards addressing the needs

of the AFN and other security agencies.
