The Director General Defense industries corporation of Nigeria, Major General AE Edet received the chairman UNICCON GROUP Dr chucks Ekwueme on the 16th of January 2024 .
The visit took place at the Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria Headquarters Kaduna.
The purpose of the visit was to consolidate on previous meetings to explore further areas of collaboration and robust engagements in meeting material needs for the Nations defence industries complex.
The chairman UNICCON GROUP in his remarks expressed gladness that DICON participated in it’s just concluded workshop and seminar.
He said UNICCON group and uts subsidiaries are interested in driving local content in the area of defense technologies.
He said one of UNICCON group’s area of specialty is bespoke technology in the areas of Robotic technology, AI, Drones- unmanned and manned flying drones amongst others.
He said serving the country was a thing of joy and assured full support to DICON for a robust technological driven results.
He went on to assure the Director General that UNICCON GROUP and its subsidiaries will produce a showcase for DICON at 60.
The Director General Major General A E Edet in his remarks said a review of MOU’s has been ongoing in light of the new DICON act.
The Director General said the review is to reduce redundancy amongst it’s partners and boost robust engagements to advance the mandate of the Corporation.
The Director General went on to add that there was room for serious collaborations and partnerships.
He went on to say when UNICCON produce a prototype to showcase for DICON at 60 it will lead to mass production by DICON which will be unprecedented at its speedy progress.
The Director General assured the group of robust support if the group is able to meet the demand reposed on it, he said the support will be an unprecedented support as all relevant stake holders are aligned and seeking robust technological progress for the nation.
The Director General said the national narrative is to drive local content technology and so UNICCON GROUP will receive adequate support.
He went on to add that the corporation will not hesitate to commit to beneficial partnerships and asked UNICCON to domesticate a prototype in a couple of months and mass production will take off following necessary approvals.
