Major General MO Uzho has taken over from Major General VO Ezugwu as the new Director General (DG) of Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON). Speaking at the handing and taking over ceremony at DICON Ordnance Factory Kaduna, the outgoing DG, Major General VO Ezugwu, said he made series of personal sacrifices in his deliberate efforts to take DICON to an enviable height.
According to Major General VO Ezugwu, when he assumed office as DICON DG, the level of efficiency of most of the machines at the Ordnance Factory were rated below 10 percent which implied dim hope for the resumption of production activities.
Most of the machines in the factories were down for over 12year Major General VO Ezugwu said: “His tour of duty in DICON focused majorly on local contents, cause he believes Nigeria has vast human and material resources which if well harnessed we can push our foreign partners or suppliers out of business in the country’s huge market.”
The incoming DG Major General MO Uzoh expressed gratitude to the outgoing DG for his outstanding exemplary leadership quality he had shown while served as DG DICON. He further said that the outgoing DG has projected DICON better than he met it by expanding its product base through local content.
Major General MO Uzoh promised to sustain the good work the outgoing DG has done and also to expand on it.
