The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) welcomed participants from the prestigious Ghanaian Armed Forces Command and Staff College (GAFCSC), Senior Course 45 who conducted a significant visit to DICON on 7 May 2024 as part of a study tour aimed at strengthening regional partnership and knowledge exchange to tackle contemporary challenges.
In a warm welcome address to the participants at Headquarters DICON Board Room, Major General AE Edet Director General (DG) DICON urged them to glean valuable insights from the briefings to enhance security cooperation in the regions. He commended the theme of the study tour, which is “Assessing the Absurd of Military Coups in Africa and Impact on the Democratic Aspirations of the Continent”. The DG stressed the significance of collaboration in tackling transnational security threats and emphasized the visits’ role in fostering knowledge exchange and professional engagement to enhance security cooperation in the regions.
The Team leader Air Commodore Bessing in his remarks stated that the visit was aimed at fostering mutual learning and cooperation in military operations between the two countries. He expressed gratitude for the insightful discussions and warm hospitality extended by DICON and acknowledged the efforts of the Corporation’s Leadership and staff in facilitating the visit despite the short notice.
Conveying gratitude on behalf of the participants, a Directing Staff Col William Archibold Kwabia acknowledged the enriching experience gained during the visit, emphasising its value in enriching their understanding.
The visit included briefings on DICON activities, interactive session, souvenir presentations, decoration of DG with the College regalia, signing of visitors book and a memorable group photograph serving as a testament to the visit.
