The Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) has launched an Evolution strategy and New Identity based on the DICON Act 2023. This is aimed at bridging  performance gaps in Military Industrial Complex and reposition the Corporation as a global player. This was done during the 60th anniversary celebrations of the Corporation and the inaugural Africa Defence Industries Conference with the theme: “Future frontiers in Africa’s Defence Technology” at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja from 14 – 15 August 2024.  The celebration began from Friday 9 – 13 August in Kaduna with series of activities ranging from Jumaat Prayer, 5km Health Walk, Interdenominatoonal Thanksgiving Service, Medical Outreaches as well as Women Empowerment Confrence and Widows Outreach.

The event also saw the launch of a book titled “Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria: Forging a pathway to Indigenous defence production” which was reviewed by Prof. Badaru Adedeji and unveiling of new logo for DICON by the Seceratary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume who represented the President, His Exellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. Highlights of the event were commemoration of DICON’s Past Board Chairmen and Directors-General as well as entertainment.
