DEFENCE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT BUREAU VISITS DICON.

The Deputy Director Defence Research and Development Bureau Air Vice Marshal Dalhat Ladan paid a courtesy visits to the Defence industries corporation of Nigeria.( DICON)


The Deputy Director and his team were received by the Director General Major General AE Edet and his management staffs at the headquarters on the 25th of June, 2024. The Deputy Director expressed his appreciation at the reception he received and went on to state the purpose of the visit. He gave a highlight on the establishment and objective of Defence Research and Development Bureau (DRDB) which is to support the Armed forces of Nigeria in the aspect of defense and security.


He further more stated that DRDB was established to coordinate the 3 Armed forces relating to defence matters. In his speech, he said the purpose of this visit was to follow up on the already existing relationship between DICON and DRDB and to see more areas of possible collaboration. He spoke about the mandate of DRDB which is to improve and repositioning of DRDB.


The Director General Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria Major General AE Edet welcomed the Deputy Director and his team, he highlighted some of the factories and it partners. He also mentioned that what DICON is doing is very clear and not in conflict with DRDB and also informed the team that the proposal DICON is having on ground is to merge DICON training school and DICON research and development center which is going to focus more on training and research.


The Director General also reminded them about the Diamond anniversary which is DICON at 60 coming up in August. He also highlighted
the DICON Management pillars which is focusing on rebranding and repositioning of the Organization.
The visit was concluded with a tour to DICON research and development center, signing of visitors book and a group of photograph.
