The Director- General,  Defence Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON ) Maj.-Gen. Aniedi Edet, says they are not celebrating challenges but progress and prospects. He stated this at an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Church Service to mark DICON’s 60th anniversary held at Our Saviours Protestant Church, Ribadu Cantonment on Sunday August 11, 2024 in Kaduna. The DG  said, “We are not celebrating the history that DICON has come about, however, being in existence for decades.”DICON has provided support to the Nigerian government even during the civil war.”

 

The Director-General equally said DICON has contributed to the peace and security of the country through what it produced and continues to produce. For us, we are looking ahead to strategies, re-brand and support the country more at a time this is becoming more difficult globally to access requirements for armed forces,” .He thanked God for the opportunity to celebrate the anniversary with a special thanksgiving.

He also commended Gov. Uba Sani for granting them the peace and opportunity for observing the celebration.In his message, Sani congratulated the DICON boss and his  Management on the 60th diamond jubilee celebration of the corporation.

Sani was represented by Rev Fr. Emmanuel Ayokunle-Adebayo, his Senior Special Assistant on Resident Communities. Sani said Kaduna, being the host state of the foremost military institutions in Nigeria including DICON, was glad to felicitate the corporation on the celebration.

 

He urged DICON not to relent, while praying for it to become a global foremost Military Industrial Complex. “Kaduna State will be glad for being host to such an institution,” Sani said. He also prayed for DICON’s management team for wisdom, knowledge and understanding in steering the affairs of the corporation.

The General Officer Commanding 1 Division, Commandant of NDA, and other Senior Military Officers attended the service.
