Maj Gen HG Tafida Director General Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria (DICON) in the company of the Director Legal Services and Director Business Development DICON signed a contract of agreement with the Ministry of Aviation on 22 July 2021 to equip the Nigerian Aviation Security Outfit with fragmental jackets and helmets.
The Minister of Aviation Sen. Sirika Hadi expressed confidence in the product and satisfaction at the level of preparedness and high-tech facilities used in the production of military hardware and basic training facilities.
He also said that Nigeria should be able to produce her basic needs in order to move with time, adding that a nation that relied on imports to survive had a long way to go particularly at this crucial and competitive age where, according to him, nations in the world were on a stiff competition to outdo one another in areas of production and manufacturing of military equipment
The DG also assured the minister that DICON would step up vigorously on its mandate to enhance military equipment production capabilities, adding that the production lines were part of the landmark projects recently undertaken to enhance the capacity of the corporation including the special equipment factory used for the production of ballistic helmets, bullet-proof vests, uniforms, and other defence-related equipment.
The DG DICON thanked the Minister of Aviation for finding time to receive his team at short notice and for his support and encouragement.
