DICON PARTICIPATION AT THE JUST CONCLUDED 41ST KADUNA INTERNATIONAL TRADE FAIR FEB 28 – MAR 5 2020

The Corporation had an impressive outing at the just concluded 41st International Trade Fair which took place on Feb 28 – 5 Mar 2020 at Rigachikun, Trade Fair Complex.

During the Fair, the NA made a maiden appearance at the 41st Kaduna International Trade Fair, which culminated in a Special Army Day Celebration held on Saturday 07 March 2020. In show of support and appreciation to NA for its numerous assistance and patronage especially under the current leadership of the COAS Lt Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, DICON and CED participated actively at the Army Special Day. The participation of DICON made the event colorful.

COAS hailed the collaborative efforts between DICON and CED which led to the production of EZUGWU MRAP, Patrol Vehicles and Bullet Proof vest using 70% local content. He also stated that apart from the primary aim of fighting insurgency in the country, the NA in line with global trends is developing its capacity to contribute to the economy development agenda of Nigeria through the establishment of some Army Units such as Nigerian Army Farm and Ranches, Command Engineering Deport (CED) as well as Nigerian Army Property Limited.

EZUGWU MRAPS and Patrol Vehicles are made with over 70% local contents through indigenous research efforts by DICON and CED were also displayed to the admiration of the general public. The Corporation also exhibited its traditional products such as Arms, Ammunition, Ceremonial Swords and other civil products, other products made from over 70% raw material includes Protective Garments such as Ballistic Helmets, Ballistic Vests, T-Shirts and DICON Talents.

At the end of the exhibition, the Corporation won two awards namely; EZUGWU MRAP vehicle ( DICON – CED) for new products category and Defence Industries Corporation of Nigeria  as the best exhibitor at the trade fair.

Some of the dignitaries at the Army Special Day include the Guest of Honour, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusuf Buratai who was ably represented by the Chief of Army Policy and Plans, Lt Gen. Lamidi Adeosun, the DG DICON Maj Gen. VO Ezugwu, Commander of CED, representative of NDA Commandant, the GOC 1 Div, representative of Emir of Zazzau, president of KADCCIMA Hajiya Muhibba Dankaka, the CP Kaduna State, the Sector Commander FRSC and GM Kastelea.
